My Journey: From Dreamer to Builder
I’m Brent Salmon, born in Chilliwack, BC, in 1984. My life has been shaped by challenges, curiosity, and a relentless drive to create.
From an early age, I was fascinated by how things worked. I think it started in 1987, watching Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown in Back to the Future on TV. That night, I told my mom I wanted to be an inventor and a scientist. That idea never left me.
As I got older, life threw its share of obstacles my way—health struggles, setbacks, and moments where it would’ve been easier to quit. But through it all, one thing remained constant: my belief that persistence and innovation can overcome even the toughest odds.
From Science to Entrepreneurship
Originally, I pursued a career in science and medicine. I studied biology, gained hands-on experience in healthcare, and was set on a traditional career path. But the deeper I got into the system, the more I realized I didn’t want to just work within existing structures—I wanted to build new ones.
That realization led me to entrepreneurship, invention, and problem-solving on my own terms. Instead of following the well-worn road, I started creating projects that combined my scientific background with my passion for innovation.
What Drives Me?
At my core, I believe in three simple principles:
✅ Ideas should be free to flourish.
✅ We should build tools that empower people, not trap them.
✅ Helping others isn’t just good—it’s the smartest long-term strategy.
This belief is what eventually led me to create BrentCorp™—not just as a business, but as a platform for building solutions that matter.
Where I’m Going Next
I don’t have all the answers. I’m not a genius, and I don’t pretend to be. I just know that the best way forward is to keep learning, keep building, and keep pushing for a future that works for more people.
This site is where I’ll share my thoughts, my work, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. If you’re interested in what I’m building, stick around—because this story is far from over.
My Personal Timeline
-I was born on the First of February, 1984. My first memory is when I was nearly 11 months old, Christmas Day. I remember wearing my blue Mickey Mouse footie pajamas and holding a Tonka truck. I was sitting in front of an old white hairdressers chair my grandma had repurposed into livingroom furniture. We still have that chair, it’s broken and in the driveway waiting to go to the dump, but it’s there. The Christmas tree lights were solid color, rainbow.
-Was given a rude awakening about the fact that my age didn’t determine my grade when turned 6 and I was still in kindergarten.
-Decided that on my tenth birthday, I’d come back in time to visit myself if I’d invented time travel in my life. I didn’t hear from me so I assumed I either failed, or it took him to a parallel Earth.
